What Should Be on the Tombstone of Gifted Education Part 2 Separate Gifted Program in All Schools

What Should be on the Tombstone of Gifted Education?

A 5 - part Series on Gifted & Talented Education

Part 2: Why Finished Needs to be a Separate " Gifted " Program in All Schools

From Part 1, we have pragmatic acquaintance information provided that set the stage for why gifted education is about to be trite and buried in the educational system. The greatest means working inveigh gifted students was the infiltration of the programs by students who do not need to be professional. These colloquial and unmotivated students distract teachers and their resources away from the entirely gifted kids. As a denouement, the learning experiences and the goals of the gifted child are distinctly played out in bent and efficiency. This leads to gifted students galling to advance their own education without the teacher ' s assistance.

Bounteous item working condemn modern gifted education is that the programs designed to educate gifted children are being closed in favor of transferring these funds into state testing preparation materials or other conforming programs. During my own years in the classroom in preparation for state testing, the primary focus has always been on the lower level student and the so - called " bubble student " who is only a few points away from passing. Ninety percent of the test prep resources are geared for these children and all of the activities are designed to review or teach the at - risk kids. The gifted child who is going to pass these tests regardless is purposefully left out of the test review process. For three to four weeks during the test review, the gifted child is left out of the educational process and expected to simply fend for themselves.

Since educational testing is the key to success in schools today, there is no real need to have a dedicated gifted program. It is this type of thinking that has eliminated gifted programs all over the country. However, rather than abandon the gifted child, the gifted program should be expanded and made available to each and every school in every district. By doing this, the school could make arrangements to provide the gifted children the advanced instruction that they require while at the same time working with the middle and lower level students who require more of a dedicated test prep environment. In terms of test prep, it is the gifted child that raises the " commended rates " of test scores. By establishing special test prep for gifted students, the school could increase every testing category and radically improve their political position in the state.

The distribution of gifted program facilities is generally done by making a single facility within the district a " gifted " school. In very large districts, a magnet school is designed to bring students from all over the district. Having a central location has the advantage of isolating the instruction of the gifted group but it is extremely competitive and several gifted students are rejected. A more effective method of gifted student distribution is to have an in - house gifted program in each school that can potentially reach many more students. This would also have the advantage of allowing teachers to create more varied gifted programs and curriculum that would widen the activities within the district.

Coming in Part 3: Worsening Classroom Activities for the Gifted Student

Why Hobbies are Essential to Life

There are terrifically of reasons why you should make time for hobbies. It is not just a waste of time, energy or skin than what other people may be convinced. With so many things going on in your life and the pressure of work and society, you may start thinking it is not practical at all to start a bag. But the equivalent instigation that is keeping you away from getting into one is the equivalent actuation why you should positively get involved in a engrossment. Here are the reasons why you need a excitement.

Hobbies can slake and invigorate you. In a world where everything revolves around material things, the pressure is on to work like there is no tomorrow. Such can take a toll not only on your physical health but your spiritual well being as well.

A lot of people are career oriented and you may be one yourself, and there is nothing wrong with focusing on your job. After all, it is your way of earning money. You also need money in order to provide for your basic material needs.

However, when you become so focused with work that you tend to forget other aspects of your life and yourself especially, that is when things start to go wrong.

Some people may think that the only way to survive in this world is to earn money. But you have to think about this: even the wealthiest people are not happy with material things alone.

We all need an outlet wherein we can become ourselves, without any pressure. When you do something for the sake of nothing and no one else but yourself, you can find meaning in your life again. When you enjoy, you become happier, livelier and more content with your life.

Hobbies can help revive not only your physical energy but your emotional and spiritual vigor too. And that will reflect in all aspects of your life including your personal, social and career life. While you can relax by sleeping or doing nothing, a diversion has a different relaxing effect. Though sleep can relax your tired muscles, it is no solution for a tired spirit. That is the big difference between the two.

A hobby is indeed a great way to spend and dedicate time for your enjoyment. But if you are thinking that a hobby is all about quietness then you are wrong. As a matter of fact, hobbies can also be helpful to your social skills.

Introverted individuals specifically look for diversions that can help them meet new people who have the same interest. In this way, hobbies can even help expand your network and that can become an advantage to your career.

You may have your own reason for pursuing a hobby but these are just a few why you need to have a diversion. When you pick an activity or a craft, do not think of anything or anyone else. Keep in mind that you are doing it for yourself. So choose hobbies that can truly help get you more energized.

Why Does Freemasonry Support Public Schools

Each year the California Grand Lodge and its constituent Masonic lodges throughout the state proclaim one present to be " Public Schools Life span. " A proclamation is routinely delivered by the sitting Grand Master, scrutinize aloud in each constituent lodge during one or more publication stated meetings. Its purpose has always been to embolden lodges to plan a program publicly supporting Public Schools in a way that reveals for all to inspect the depth of Freemasonry ' s obligation.

Until 2011, each constituent lodge was ofttimes companionless to terminate for itself what to do without the benefit of besides embracing a statewide Masonic project in which it could become involved. That accomplishment has been a quite haphazard implementation of a series of different activities by different lodges working independently of each other. The programs ranged from complicated and energetic interaction with selected Public Schools to nobody at all.

Ace are many multifarious reasons why certain lodges have done little or obliteration. In some lodges the members have not been particularly active exterior of lodge habit or lodge social events. In other lodges the past headship wittily did not grant adequate faculty. And in in future other lodges financial resources were inadequate to do much more than stew to support the bare minimum of activities.

But all of that diverse in 2011 for California Masons and their lodges. Grand Adept William J. Bray III led the way to implementing a statewide Masonic compulsion to the state ' s public schools. Although it was his rule that provided the energy for implementing the programs, the plan came from ordinary Masons who work in the trenches of Freemasonry throughout the state.

The most recent Grand Lodge Tactical Plan is the product of a survey taken by its Executive Committee and staff delivered to each and every helping of a constituent lodge. Woven into the essence of that plan was the overwhelmingly most popular response: Masonry should become a potency for profoundly refreshing our Public Schools. Masons up and down the state wound up that it was important to save public education, make it better than totally before, and evidence to our communities that Masons conceive that a best-selling system of free public education is essential to the concervation of a free society.

To better take meaning why equal a diverse pool of women and women from differing political, religious and cultural backgrounds stand linked arm - in - arm in support of public schools, it is instructive to first learn how and why public schools came to dominate America ' s educational system. A great deal of credit for that goes to Horace Mann - the " Father of the Common School Movement " - who also happened to be a Mason. It would be a gaffe, however, to conclude that Mann ' s passion to the public school generate was due to his being a Mason. It would also be a mistake to understand that Freemasonry supports Public Schools smartly since Horace Mann was a Mason. The fact of the matter is that Masonry embraces values that Mann get going appealing enough to be initiated into the Craft. Freemasonry and Mann reciprocal the same reverence for temper, morality and the advancement of an enlightened public.

Today, Public Schools are the primary source for educating our children from kindergarten through high school. That was not always therefore, for from the induction of this country until the started day advancing the effect of Public School education has been strongly opposed by parents with potent political backing who have steadfastly resisted turning their children over to teachers for their good education. Leveled in America ' s early years some children were home - schooled. If their parents were wealthy enough others were taught by private tutors. However, double time after the American Revolution was completed, Thomas Jefferson initiated a nationwide dialectic that gained consonant tremendous impulse that Public Schools eventually became the criterion tolerably than the exception.

Jefferson argued that a free and independent society would be stronger if all of its citizens plain equal access to knowledge - knowledge which each could so forward in their daily lives. At the ultimate of the Revolution the nation erect itself without part educational system and the people were forsaken to fend for themselves. To remedy the matter, Jefferson - who at sundry times argued with equal vigor for limited and sizeable government - suggested that tax dollars be used to fund a nationwide educational system. His suggestion was ignored at the time and his idea languished for almost a century.

By the 1840 ' s a few Public Schools had popped up around the country financially supported by communities that could serve them. At about this time Horace Mann began his own quest, hustings up whereabouts Jefferson had outcast off. Mann ' s life story cannot be told here, but suffice to state that if he had not acted with energetic, single - minded devotion to what he believed was necessary, Massachusetts would not have passed the first compulsory education laws in 1852. New York followed the following year and by 1918 all American children were required to at least attend elementary school. What followed was the nothing less than the successful pursuit of something shared in common by Freemasonry and America ' s Founding Fathers: equality.

At the turn of the 20th century schools in the South, as well as many in the north were segregated. In 1896, in a case entitled Plessy v. Ferguson, the United States Supreme Court ruled that segregation was legal - a decision that would be overturned decades later in the 1954 Supreme Court decision in Brown v. The Board of Education of Topeka Kansas. What was at issue in 1954 and decided once and for all time was the ideal that all men are created equal under the eyes of the Supreme Architect of the Universe - at least when it comes to the question of equal access to education. It certainly comes as no surprise that the Chief Justice in 1954 was Earl Warren who, like Horace Mann, was a Mason. From that year forward all Public Schools have been open to children of all ethnic backgrounds.

Between 1896 and 1954, Masons throughout America led the charge for the advancement of enlightenment with its clarion call for the support of Public Schools. It is neither ironic nor wholly surprising that the first time the Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite for the Southern Jurisdiction of the United States, whose see is at Charleston, North Carolina, ventured out into the world of community service was to further the cause of Public Schools. Much gratitude is owed to the Grand Commander at the time, George F. Moore, for his uncompromising leadership in that venture.

Before being elected Grand Commander in 1914 by the Supreme Council, Moore - a prolific writer - auditioned his Masonic position in favor of Public Schools in such publications as The New Age - a predecessor to today ' s Scottish Rite Journal. His attempts, made before the onset of World War I, were well received everywhere - including in New York which was prompted by men such as Moore, as well as organizations such as the Scottish Rite to pass it ' s compulsory education laws in 1918. In the years after Moore had passed his elected position as Grand Commander on to John Cowles, the Scottish Rite became known throughout America as the great promoter of nationwide literacy through the auspices of Public Schools.

California Masons were no less active in their support of Public Schools. In 1920 Charles A. Adams, Grand Master of Masons in California made Public Schools a Masonic project for the first time. The demands for manpower made upon the populace by World War I led to the flight of thousands of teachers from their classrooms. More important jobs awaited them: combat overseas, attending to farmlands to grow the food necessary to sustain a struggling nation, and manufacturing factories that had to fulfill ever increasing demands for the production and delivery of war materiel. Grand Master Adams witnessed the accompanying fallout with great alarm. Approximately 600 schools were closed throughout California - an extraordinary number for that time.

Although Freemasonry has consistently refrained from engaging in or taking sides in the world of public politics, Grand Master Adams prudently weighed the advantages and disadvantages of doing so on behalf of Public Schools. At its core, Masonry had always inculcated in its members the importance of pursuing knowledge. Its ritual sought to impress upon candidates for Masonic degrees the importance of studying the liberal arts and sciences, such as grammar, rhetoric, logic, arithmetic, music, astronomy and geometry. And the very idea about the establishment of Public Schools throughout the nation seemingly originated with our first President - and one of Freemasonry ' s most prominent members. In a letter to his Vice President, John Adams, George Washington wrote:

" Wise and judicious modes of education, patronized and supported by communities, will draw together the sons of the rich and the poor, among whom it makes no distinction; it will cultivate natural genius, elevate the soul, excite laudable emulation to excel in knowledge, piety, and benevolence; and finally it will reward its patrons and benefactors by shedding its benign influence on the public mind. "

There was additional Masonic precedence for Grand Master Adams to draw upon before deciding what to do. De Witt Clinton, who served as Grand Master of Masons in New York, as well as Governor of that state, embraced the cause of Public Schools so emphatically that he is known today as the " Father of New York Public Schools. " While serving as Grand Master of Masons in Pennsylvania, Benjamin Franklin openly endorsed the adoption of Public Schools in that state.

With that history and precedent to support him, Grand Master Adams determined that California Masons should take a public stance in support of strengthening the Public Schools system in this state. He knew that Masonry had a long - standing belief that public education was essential to sustaining a free society. Indeed, Masonic virtues promoted a concept that went far beyond encouraging the mere accumulation of knowledge: equal access to knowledge promotes freedom and strengthens the middle class without which democratic principles fundamental to this Republic will wither away and eventually disappear. On those grounds it was easy for Grand Master Adams on August 30, 1920 to issue the first Masonic Public Schools Week Proclamation.

The history of Masonry ' s support of Public Schools did not end there. That support has continued since then in every Masonic jurisdiction, but was perhaps most profoundly demonstrated by the continuing nationwide work by the Scottish Rite. For example, seizing upon the examples set by Grand Commanders Moore and Cowles - that freedom is the most significant blessing any man can enjoy - Brook Hays, a Thirty - Third degree Scottish Rite Mason and Arkansas congressman literally sacrificed his political career for Public Schools.

A lay - preacher and former president of the Southern Baptist Convention, Hays also took a stand against many of his Southern Baptist cronies by leading the public charge against Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus who opposed providing public education equally to all races. Owing to Hays ' courage and persistence, President Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered the Arkansas National Guard to go into action. By his command they advanced into that state and restored obedience to the new law of the land - Brown v. The Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas - and thereby forever linked all of America and Freemasonry to a commitment to a free public education for all people.

In 1985 when Fred Kleinknecht was elected to serve as Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite, Public Schools were under assault by various religious organizations bent upon wresting control of education from the hands of a secular public. Two Masonic values were under attack: the freedom of religion and the right of all people to a free public education. Kleinknecht was determined to continue the work of his predecessor, Henry Clausen, to keep religion separate from the state - the one and only certain way to prevent the tyranny of theocratic doctrine. Grand Commander Kleinknecht would forever be dogged during his tenure by religious fundamentalists who eventually turned their ire directly against Masonry - an ire that to this day has not entirely abated.

It didn ' t help Kleinknecht ' s position in the eyes of his persistent detractors that Clausen had previously taken a firm public stance against prayer in Public Schools while serving as Grand Commander. To those fervently pressing for inclusion of prayer in Public Schools, Clausen ' s stance was viewed as emblematic of all that is wrong with Masonry. The result has been a continuous and unrelenting effort to discredit the Craft and its members. It is no surprise that the assault by some powerful forces upon Public Schools has also increased and poses a threat to a bedrock of human freedom.

Today our Public Schools are operated at the state level by departments of education, and locally by school districts, as well as publicly elected or appointed officials. By one estimate there are approximately 15, 000 such school districts operating throughout the nation. Most are supervised and run by individual counties. Because there is little federal oversight, curricula differs from state to state - a fact that has prompted some to opine that greater coordination or centralization would even out the existing disparities among the states in student performance.

While literacy rates among students at all levels in elementary school are perhaps the most important issue for Masons to focus upon, it is equally important to understand why some outspoken critics of Public Schools blame poor performance upon the system and its teachers, but give little credit to either when students perform well. The maxim " follow the money " is particularly relevant.

First, Public Schools are funded by tax monies paid by taxpaying citizens. No one likes paying taxes and when they are asked to pay more than they have in the past, many people point fingers of blame at supposed inefficiencies within the system.

Property taxes pay for most of the cost of Public Schools. Although some monies flow into the system from parents, private fundraising, as well as federal, state and local governments, it remains those taxes which comprise the lion ' s share of funding. In California, a so - called " taxpayer revolt " and well - financed political campaign led to the passage of something referred to as " The People ' s Initiative to Limit Property Taxation. " While the benefits and harm of that law can forever be debated, one fact about Public Schools is beyond debate: since the 1960 ' s when California schools were highly ranked among the nation ' s Public Schools, there has been a steady decline since The People ' s Initiative was made law. Today the state ' s Public School students now rank 48th out of 50 states in many surveys about student achievement.

For Masonry the challenge is not about endorsing or opposing higher taxes, or even to adopt a position in that emotionally - charged debate. Rather, the challenge is to fully comprehend the forces at work for and against Public Schools. Our discussion is not about whether to support Public Schools - it is about how best Masonry can do so. Consequently it is essential for Masons to engage in a dispassionate discussion about Public Schools without getting drawn into the politics that never seem far away. Perhaps the forum our Craft provides, devoid of political ambition, is the best forum within which that discussion can take place.

On April 1, 2011, the California Grand Lodge will " kick - off " its strategic plan to make a profound difference in public education. Celebrations up and down the state will take place at various Public School sites intended to communicate clearly and very publicly that Masonry intends to work for the advancement of Public Schools. It intends to do so because a productive, educated middle class is fundamental to the perpetuation of a free society. Enlightened people will not easily relinquish the freedoms first established by the Founding Fathers.

There is important work remaining to be done by California Masons. A kick - off celebration without something of substance to follow is little more than a show - not an effort to make a profound difference. Public school advisory councils drawing upon the talents and resources of Masons within their geographical boundaries consisting of a mix of age groups to discuss and decide upon ways to implement the Grand Lodge ' s strategic plan hold out much promise for success. Masonry is at its best when it coordinates its lodges into a force for good. The advisory councils can be such a force.

Equally important, public school advisory councils provide an opportunity to California Masons that might not otherwise exist: the opportunity to engage members who are searching for something meaningful with which to make a personal commitment. As they progress through the various stages of initiation, from the First to the Third Degree, Masons anticipate learning about how they can be a part of something that changes society - and changes it positively. Our fraternal support of Public Schools offers the Craft a wonderful, perhaps a once - in - a - lifetime chance to put Masons to work to implement Masonic values dedicated to the hope that freedom will always prevail and that the pursuit of knowledge will forever be available to the rich and the poor, the high and the low - to all regardless of station in life.

What Types Of Applications Are Suitable For Touchscreen Surveys

As customers and service users are becoming more close with interaction via the lattice and using touch - hush up based devices it seems logical that chitchat is now available using online survey software through touch screens.

Touchscreen devices conforming as mobile phones, EPOS and self - checkouts in supermarkets now seem the yardstick with the younger generation and are finding that they are being adopted by older people too due to their simplicity of use.

Traditionally, surveys were carried out using a principally paper - based manner with customers asked to fill in lengthy chat documents which often led to errors and a time consuming system. The paper forms have therefore been entered into a computer for analysis of the data to share place. Online surveys and in particular touchscreen surveys provision rife advantages over the paper - based way.

Touchscreen surveys use a website where an gaffer can actualize and edit their surveys, the survey data can time in in real - time from the touchscreen kiosks and other devices connected to the internet by broadband or 3G networks. The touchscreen surveys can easily be made available in composite languages and rich media including images, video and audio can make the experience more enjoyable and help reach a greater audience.

Why would you want to use touchscreen surveys in your organisation? Read on to see how others are using touchscreen surveys for numerous applications.

Staff surveys:

For many organisations, both commercial and public sector, the link between management and staff can sometimes become quite sensitive to changes. Previous history of projects not quite providing the win - win that was promised can damage your employee perceptions and make it even harder to drive through changes. Do you really know what your staff are thinking? Do you have a happy workforce? Can you make them work more efficiently by altering some processes or layout of the building? Does the staff canteen provide the right mix? These are just a few examples of how kiosk and touchscreen surveys can be implemented to quickly get feedback for the management team.

Customer satisfactions surveys

What makes your customers want to buy your products? What do they like and why did they not make a purchase today? Lots of small businesses have some sort of simple questionnaire on their website or as part of their online shopping cart. For larger retailers, in - store touchscreen kiosks are a great way of capturing feedback from your customers whilst providing an interactive advertising platform and catalogue of your products. You could also use your survey software to investigate new product developments and get feedback from your customers before you commit to production.

Patient satisfaction surveys

Healthcare represents a huge market for providing touchscreen based feedback for patients. Many patients find paper - based surveys to be too complex and laborious when compared with the quick and effective touchscreen based patient feedback surveys. Within a hospital, touchscreen kiosks are used to provide patients with healthcare information to enable them to improve their own health. Short video clips ( e. g. stop smoking, how to wash your hands ) can be shown at minimal extra cost compared with alternative solutions. The touchscreen kiosks are typically installed in waiting areas of the hospital.

Small touchscreen survey terminals can be installed on wards and in corridors of the hospital to provide instant feedback of patient opinion as they enter or leave an area. The survey points use small touch screens, typically around 10inches to display short feedback surveys and simple messages ( e. g. Welcome to radiology, please take part in our short survey... )

Surveys in Education:

Touchscreen surveys can be used in education. In early years ( Sure Start ), primary and secondary schools, or for further education colleges and University, touch screens provide instant feedback from students, parents and staff. The capability of touchscreen survey systems to provide form - based feedback means that they can be put to great use as online enrolment forms.

Training feedback:

If you run a business which provides training services the quite often you would provide a simple feedback form at the end of the training. The form may be used as a simple test to ensure that the students have understood the training and are now more competent in the subject. Alternatively you may also wish to get feedback about the lecturer as to how well they teach. Training feedback surveys can also be used for health and safety training ( e. g. show a short video and then ask 5 questions to ensure the viewer has understood the information ).

Conclusion

Getting feedback from staff, customers and service users has never been easier with the introduction of touchscreen surveys. Touchscreen survey software will continue to develop into new fields of use and is really only limited by imagination.

Why A Good Education Can Be BAD For Business

It ' s back to school season and for the first time in my life, I am not gearing up to materialize class or teach a course.

I have been in school since age 6 and am a tenured professor overripe entrepreneur. It is unharmed to say I have been in school rigid about my solid life. As a social entrepreneur who really believes one can make money and make a sententious characteristic in the world, I have been really dealing with myself as well as my clients - purpose - purposeful high - achieving experts, execs, entrepreneurs, PhDs, and skillful services providers who have walked through some sort of combustion in their life - who are almighty accomplished with credentials and experience out the wazoo, but have difficulty translating their expertise into big roll.

Thence as we enter the third habitat of the year, which is besides the back - to - school season, I am exploring the dissonance between education and success. My intention with this inquiry is to offer a new model for success I am calling a Ph. D. in business for moneymaking people.

Lease ' s start here. In 1991, Chris Argyis published an article in the Harvard Review, Teaching Smart People How to Learn, locality he notes how success is this day link to a person ' s comprehension to learn. Well, smart people, particularly leaders types, suck at learning. Learning requires slip, and smart people identify their sense of self with winning. Accordingly if they fail, their behavior becomes defensive and they are not open to feedback, suggestions or help. To accept approximative overtures would signify to the smart head man that filly or he is not enough.

I think about my clients - smart, passionate, committed, fiancee Type A personalities with hearts as big as Texas - who limit their success because they can ' t fail. A failure to them makes them a failure at the core level. My client base is diverse, yet we all have the same sort of experience. How? Why? Where did we get this sense of ' failure / I ' m a failure ' propensity as a culture of high achievers? The answer is obvious: school.

I know there are many other factors involved in identity theory - trust me; it ' s my area of expertise as a theorist and philosopher - but walk with me for a moment on this one. North American education is rooted in an Enlightenment notion of learning: deductive logic and repeating facts. Meaning, if you work hard and do well, you can expect to be rewarded with a good job, which leads to success. Sir Ken Robinson ' s TED talk, How Education is Killing Creativity, explains how traditional education is obsolete in the 21st century because the old Enlightenment Period model of education is completely outdated for a globalized economy and a hyper - connected world.

Think back to your educational experience. In school, you were rewarded for getting the answers right. In school, you learned how to play by the rules or there were consequences. In school, you learned to work hard, be congenial, get along, not rock the boat and beat the competition.

Can you see where this is going?

All of those behaviors directly undermine your business success. If you want a sustainable and profitable business, you have to be willing to fail in order to succeed. You have to break the rules to be successful - especially the self - imposed rules that limit your performance. You have to work smart, not hard, to have your business grow. You have to be creative and flexible instead of trying to do it right.

Let me say it like this: the traditional education paradigm teaches students how to land a ' good job ' where your skills, talents, experience, and personality save the day. Yet most MBAs, marketing programs, and sales trainings didn ' t account for the economy tanking. What do you do when you have spent a fortune on an education that is just about obsolete in a globalized, Internet - connected world?

Even if you haven ' t dropped bucket - loads of cash - or student loans - on your MBA, you have poured the equivalent in sweat equity into your business, career, or job, working countless hours and sacrificing health, family time, and peace of mind in order to ' make it. ' But when you look at where you are, you realize you have gone nowhere fast. No traction. Just incremental movement at a snail ' s pace.

This dependency on ' a good education ' puts a glass ceiling on one ' s revenue, fighting for clients from the competition, and thousands and thousands of dollars poured down the drain into trainings, sales courses, and marketing programs that haven ' t worked. The result for high achievers is that they are so not where they thought they would be by now. The feeling of impending failure lurks, just under the surface.

Here ' s the thing. It ' s time to get into the 21st century by upgrading your most valuable asset - YOU. It ' s time for you to go back to school - a different kind of school that offers a different kind of education.

Let me explain. It ' s a new day. Globalization, a recovering economy, and the Internet have changed the face and the value on traditional education. You were taught to get a ' good ' education so you can have success. But a good education doesn ' t get you success like it used to 50 years ago, even 10 years ago. The traditional education model for success taught you to develop your skills, get experience, and promote your strengths.

Except everyone is doing that. Don ' t everyone ' s emails, commercials, elevator pitches, and videos sound the same to you? It ' s because they, we all, have been doing our business in an old paradigm of selling, positioning, and marketing our skills, talents, and services.

Here is a RADICAL thought - one that can change your life, eradicate the competition, and take you business to levels you may never have dreamed of. What if you stopped trying to build your business based on your skills and started to elevate you business by leveraging your worth in the market place?

Think about it. If you are anything like me, you went to school to get your credentials to be credible. When I was 12 years old my mother took a pair of scissors and cut all my hair off. I decided I was stupid because I didn ' t move. Get this: ONLY a stupid person would go get 4 degrees - including a 2nd Masters degree and a Ph. D. from Stanford University. Why? To prove she is not stupid or to cover up she is - for herself. So education, training, and credentials have been positioned as the credibility one would need to be successful.

Credibility is directly connected to self - worth. Most high achievers don ' t believe they are worthy, so we amass LOTS of credibility - education, money, social proof, the right home, neighborhood, car, 2. 5 kids - so we feel like we have the right to speak, to sell, to present, to teach. And we hide. We hide in plain sight behind our credentials, our titles, or our affiliates. We haven ' t made the transition from proving we are worthy to building true holographic wealth.

A good education can be bad for business in that the behaviors we once used to survive and get by are still the ones running our business. Our inability to fail keeps us playing small. And we have used education as a way to gain credibility to prove our worthiness instead of healing our hearts so we can leverage our worth in the marketplace. I propose that we purpose - driven, high - achievers who want so badly to do well with our lives, stop trying to position our skills, talents, gifts, experience, pedigrees, affiliates, in the marketplace and start to elevate our worth.

It is a radical notion to come from the perspective that you have something completely distinct and precious to offer the world. Yet there are millions of people praying for what only YOU can bring, and they are willing to pay top dollar for it through you. As far as I am concerned, you are sitting on a gold mine. I call this worth you naturally bring to life ( which you would never pay YOU for ) your Million Dollar Moneymaker. And it is not your talents, gifts, skills, experience, work ethic - none of those things. All of those aspects of you will serve your Million Dollar Moneymaker, but they are not it. Your Million Dollar Moneymaker is located in " your mess. " It was forged in life ' s fire when life broke your heart.
