Teaching English In Taiwan - Esl Summer Camps

If you are thinking about teaching English in Taiwan thereupon crackerjack is always a demand for teachers. However, how long are most teaching positions? This is the norm and this is one of the reasons why it will be very hard to impossible to find any short term legal work teaching English in Taiwan. If you were only thinking of spending a few months teaching English then unfortunately you won ' t be able to find any employers who will hire you. Schools prefer teachers to stay at least one year as if teachers come and go too often it affects how long students stay at the school. High teacher turn over rates usually lead to students being unhappy as they don ' t like to have a new teacher too often. You may want to consider staying at least one year in Taiwan if you ' d like to try your hand at teaching and exploring or travelling around the island.

There are plenty of summer camps in Taiwan each year but if you were looking at teaching at them then your chances are pretty slim. Most teachers at these camps already work at schools that hold them, or the length of the camps is so short that teachers hired are already in Taiwan and most employers won ' t and are unable to hire teachers from outside of Taiwan for just a few weeks. Don ' t let this deter you from teaching English in Taiwan. There are plenty of positions available with contracts of just one year and you may be surprised at just how fast time can pass teaching English in Taiwan.
